Catering

The catering arrangements for Amwell View School are now in-house and the Cook-in-Charge is Mrs Barbara Henry. Barbara has worked at the school for 15 years and started as a General Assistant and has worked her way up to Cook-in-Charge. Canteen Assistants are Mrs. Sally Crockford and Mrs. Joanne Conway.

In addition to recognising the importance of providing a selection of foods which reflect the ‘Balance of Good Heath’ and to comply with the Governments Nutritional Standards, Barbara also ensures that the many special dietary needs of the pupils at Amwell View School are met.

Committed to supporting the ethos and goals of the National Health School Standard Award, the catering staff work hard to achieve the Healthy Eating strand of this initiative.

New menus are created and these are new multi-choice menus with the pupils input to help create the menu with a new ‘Class Choose Tuesday’ initiative; where each class makes a choice to create the menu they want.

Barbara would like to encourage parents to request menus that their children particularly like that they have had at school from her, and she is willing to accept recipes from home or ‘Grandma Recipes’, if parents think their children would like to eat it at school.

If you want any recipes or have some to share please email janet.warrington@amwell.herts.sch.uk in the first instance.
