Art

Calling all Amwell Artists,

We are launching Amwell’s very own Artists club.

Every Monday we will be sending out a crafty assignment for all the family to get involved and inspired by.

To participate all you have to do is create your own masterpiece inspired by the week’s theme and send in a picture of your masterpiece via Tapestry by 2pm on Fridays.

The creations can be collage, junk modelling, paintings, drawings, creations made in sand, foam… the list goes on!

We want everyone to get involved, so send on the assignments to Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Siblings… could your pet get involved too?

Week 10

Hello Everyone,

We have made it. The last week of Amwell Artists and we cannot thank you enough for participating. We have loved seeing your amazing creations each week, we hope you continue to create during the summer holidays. ⭐

For the theme this week we are teaming up with Rachel in Music to participate in ‘The Arts Week’ 🎼. The theme is Creating to Music. Look out for an email from Rachel which will have the pieces of music attached. Please pick one, listen to it and create a masterpiece to the music. You could use paints, clay, pens, glitter, playdough…anything you can think of! Who will join the winners wall for the final week?

Happy crafting,

Natasha and Emma  🎨

Throughout the year Art continues to hold a vital role in developing and supporting children’s skills across the whole curriculum. Each class timetable offers at least an hour’s dedicated session for developing Art skills, but many teachers use embedded lessons within other areas of the curriculum to immerse children in different topics and themes such as History or RE..

We are currently looking forward to another Art, Music and Science focus week coming up in July 2018. We hope the children enjoy exploring ‘Sound’ within their Artwork and look forward to an Art Gallery exhibition of the work made within the focus week. Where children can display their own work and look at the work of others. .

We continue to buy Art resources in order to keep teachers’ lessons and sessions well stocked and ready to go. Teachers are able to request specific resources needed for specific targets and lessons. These resources are then available for children and teachers to use as they begin to share ideas and their art practice.
