During Sensory Week this year we benefited from an organised week of whole school activities through which pupils were immersed in the culture of Spain. The pupils enjoyed numerous activities including watching – and joining in with – the energetic flamenco dancers as they performed to live music in the big hall; cooking and tasting Paella and creating Spanish fans during a carousel of sensory activities hosted by Class 4.

In the classroom pupils have been learning about Geographical concepts such as “Direction” by programming Beebots with sequences, Mapping by going on treasure hunts around school, “Investigating Waterways” through water play and walks to our local river in the village. Classroom obstacle courses enabled some of the older pupils to demonstrate their understanding of “Geographical Vocabulary”, whilst Belinda Bear helped to reinforce weather, transport and places to some of the younger pupils as she travelled to pupils homes and then around the world!

We look forward to another year of exciting hands on investigations and motivating trips to further inspire and develop our pupils’ curiosity of the world around them.
