Pupils have continued to learn about a range of different professions and roles including delivering post, working in a supermarket, role playing being a nurse/paramedic and exploring a range of beauty therapies. In Students 1 and 2, students have continued their community work by delivering fruit, washing the tea towels and collecting the recycling from around the school. .
Once again, Students 2 were joined by staff from Waitrose and pupils from Simon Balle School to hold their annual Business Masterclass with Young Enterprise. Pupils made a £50 profit and enjoyed the day.
The opening of Amwell View School Charity Shop has provided many new opportunities to expand the careers curriculum. Pupils have visited the shop, some for work experience alongside our shop manager Cheryl. Each week, pupils collect, sort and organise donations. This includes using the laundry to wash, iron and fold all clothing donations. Being able to see the process from donation to sale has really helped pupils to understand how the shop works.
